ASHLAND — The Ashland County-West Holmes Career Center hosted its graduation ceremony at Ashland University’s Kates Gymnasium on Friday morning.

The center celebrated students’ achievements throughout the year, handing out several scholarships. Teachers also recognized outstanding students in each program, and one student of the year was honored at the ceremony.

A teacher of the year and support staff member of the year were also recognized before grads walked across the stage.

Career Center principal Rick Brindley offered introductory remarks, while testing coordinator John Davis closed the ceremony.

Brindley told students about how he’d entered college studying one thing, but chose to change his path. He told students that being yourself is important, and encouraged them all to chart their own paths.
