NANKIN — Members of the Mapleton FFA Chapter were part of the FFA members and advisors who recently attended Ohio Leadership Camp held in Carrollton, Ohio at FFA Camp Muskingum.

The students were able to attend camp through a scholarship sponsored by the United States Army. This is the second year of sponsorship by the U.S. Army.

Mapleton FFA chapter officers Nevaeh Anderson, Cheyenne Jackson, Abigail Stephens and Kyler Leiby all participated in this camp.

While at camp, the students took part in leadership training sessions conducted by National FFA Staff that included sessions titled Who Am I? Goal Setting, Habits, Determining Identity Goals, Balance and Next Steps.

Through various activities the campers experienced the importance of leadership, teamwork and cooperation in a group setting.

Sgt. Charles Martin of the U.S. Army presented a workshop that focused on community involvement and encouraged each FFA member to embrace selfless service to others. There was also a question and answer session.
