On Monday, July 15th, 2024, surrounded by her loving family at Brethern Care Village, Annie Laura Blough went home to be with the Lord and reunite with her beloved dog Bella Ann.

Born March 27th, 1942 in Roanoke, VA, she was the cherished daughter of the late Pershing Robertson and Mable Creasy-Grisett.

Annie married the love of her life, James P. Blough on May 17th, 1965 and they remained married for 29 years till his untimely death in 1994. Annie retired from Liquibox Corporation in Ashland, OH, where she gained life long friends, many whom she considered family. Annie was also a talented seamstress who could turn simple thread into a stunning creation. You could always find her listening to The King, Elvis Presley and growing her collection of Boyds Bears. She also loved to line dance and cook, a skill she passed down to her wonderful granddaughters.

Above all else, Annie was a fighter. Diagnosed with breast cancer in February of 2017, she went on to beat it and continue to live life. Surrounded by an ever growing family, she adored her grandchildren and great grandchildren, enjoying every moment with them. She was always happiest when one of them was running through the house and loved having holidays in her living room.

Annie leaves behind her greatest treasures on Earth, her loved ones. She is survived by one son, Richard (Cindy) Blough, her pride and joy. She leaves behind 4 treasured grandchildren, Kristy (Lonnie) Berkshire, Jennifer (Cody Reeder) Blough, Jessica (Gabriel) Vaughn and Tyler (Chelsea Van Houten) McNeely along with being blessed with seven great grandchildren, Cash, Remy, Oaklee, Clay, Chloe, Shelby and Silas.

She was preceded in death by her parents, Pershing and Mable, three beloved siblings, Tommy, Watson, Teresa, her husband James, one great-granddaughter, Presley and beloved companion Bella Ann. Throughout Annie’s long life, she has said goodbye to many loved ones and friends, who she couldn’t wait to see when she arrived at the pearly gates.

The family would like to especially thank the team at Gentiva Hospice for the exceptional love and care they provided her throughout the final days of her life.

To know her was to love her, she never met a stranger and always left with a new friend. She will be greatly missed by all who had the pleasure of knowing her but her love will live on forever.

Services will be held at Heyl Funeral Home on Friday, July 19 at 11:00 AM, with visitation an hour before the funeral service. A graveside service will follow in the Vermillion Cemetery in Hayesville, OH.

In lieu of flowers, the family requests donations be made to the Ashland County Humane Society. Tell them Bella Ann sent you.
