MANSFIELD — The eighth edition of the News Man Weekly Podcast has dropped.

In this week’s edition, Richland Source City Editor Carl Hunnell is joined by Ashland author and journalist Steve Goble.

The novelist is up for a national award for his latest novel, “Go Find Daddy,”  the third novel in the Ed Runyon Mystery Series.

It’s a conversation between two old-school journalists who once worked together at the Mansfield News Journal years ago.

It helps us answer the question: How does a newsman from Ohio develop ocean pirate murder mysteries set in the 1700s?

Hunnell is also joined by Richland Source Shelby/North Richland County reporter Hayden Gray and Knox Pages reporter Grant Ritchey to riff on the news of the week.

Their discussion includes the recent community celebration of the 30th anniversary of the “Shawshank Redemption” movie release; the Mansfield City Council discussion about zoning regulations for possible recreational cannabis dispensaries in the city; and a proposal (now withdrawn) to develop the Brass Office Complex into apartments on the city’s north side.
