Daniel John Miller, 77 of Ashland passed away late Wednesday evening, September 4, 2024 in the Cleveland Clinic.

He was born on October 7, 1946 in Grove City, Pennsylvania the son of the late Robert and Erma (nee King) Miller.

Dan graduated from Hickory High School, Class of 1964 in Hermitage, PA. He furthered his education and earned a bachelor’s degree from Youngstown University in 1968; and his master’s degree from Ashland University in 1972.

He married the love of his life, the former Lynn Atterholt on December 21, 1973.

Dan retired after more than 35 years in education from New London Local Schools, retiring in 2003.

Throughout his life, he loved woodworking, model trains, painting watercolors, and both vegetable and flower gardening. Dan was an avid photographer; having been employed with the Ashland Times-Gazette for several years.

He is survived by his loving wife of 50 years, Mrs. Lynn Miller of Ashland; three children, John (Marla) Miller of Chicago, Anne (David) Stewart of Mogadore and Elizabeth Miller of Ashland; three grandchildren, Autumn Miller of Chicago, Kylie Stewart of Mogadore, and Conner Stewart of Mogadore; and his two sisters, Olivia Griffin of Pennsylvania and Roberta Watts in South Carolina.

Dan is preceded in death by his parents; and two brothers-in-law, Leo Griffin and Richard Watts.

Funeral services will be held on Sunday, September 15, 2024 at 4:00 p.m. at the Denbow-Gasche Funeral Home with Pastor Rich Pate presiding. Friends may call one hour prior to the service from 3:00 p.m. to 4:00 p.m.
