JEROMESVILLE — On Sept. 10, 46 members of the Hillsdale FFA participated in the Ashland County rural soil judging contest to compete against each other to earn a spot on the district soil judging team.
The new ag teacher, Mr. Parrot has spent the first couple weeks of school educating the ag classes on everything there is to know about the soil industry.
The Agricultural Soils CDE is an educational activity designed as a practical method of teaching students to evaluate land and soil and to make decisions when faced with soil-related issues that affect agricultural production.
The top ten scorers who will be eligible to compete at the district level are Reed Twining 425; Jillian Cowger-395; Maci Atterholt-370; Kahlen Simmons-360; Aurora Martin-355; Valerie Raubenolt-355; Julia Murawski-355; Jordyn Fickes-355; Blake Schwan-350; Emma Snyder-350.
