Susan K. Gordon age 67 of Ashland, passed away very unexpectedly on September 12, 2024 at Ohio Health Mansfield.
Born in Ashland County on February 1,1957 the daughter of Bruce and Delphene (Steele) Bright, she had been a resident of Ashland County all of her life. Susan was employed at Bright’s Nursery. After many years at the nursery, she began to breed and sell Standard Schnauzer dogs, raising and selling hundreds of puppies across the United States. She was a member of Hillsdale High School Class of 1975. She loved showing horses while she was in school and was a very active participant in 4-H. She truly loved being on the farm. She was a member of St. Mary’s of the Snow Catholic Church, American Kennel Club, American Quarter Horse Association, Katahdin Hair Sheep International and the American Hereford Association.
On March 23, 1996 Susan was married to Ron Gordon who survives.
In addition to her husband Ron, she is survived by one son and daughter-in-law; Ryan (Elizabeth) Gordon of Chattanooga, Tennessee. Also surviving are grandchildren; Ellie, Rhett and Blakely. She is also survived by two siblings; Brenda Lane of Ashland and Bruce “Skip” Bright also of Ashland.
Susan is preceded in death by her parents.
Funeral services will by held on Wednesday, September 18. 2024 at 12:00 pm at the Heyl Funeral Home. Friends may visit at the funeral home on Wednesday from 10:00 am till 12:00 pm. Burial will follow in the Mt. Olivet Cemetery in Olivesburg.
