ASHLAND — Bradford House and Brookwood Place residents at Brethren Care Village created fall flower arrangements October 2 with the assistance of Art of Gardening members. The Brethren Care community project is organized by member Ruth Ann Linder.
At Bradford House garden club member Pat Edwards said six “high functioning” residents participated in the fall craft project. Also joining Edwards were members Skip Cather and Patty Stauffer.
At Brookwood Place 17 residents took part assisted by Art of Gardening members Sally Ahlers, Ruth Ann Linder, Cheri Britton, Faith McKinley, Carolyn Brown, Cathy Siwek and Claudia Dunn. Siwek also provided cookies.
Brookwood residents Gretchen Emery and Liz Schrauf were thrilled with their choice of colorful fall foliage to use in the creation of their arrangements. Brookwood’s Caldeen “Cal” Patton said she was married with five children, four sons and one daughter. She worked in the secretarial field. Her name is Irish, she added. She and Sue Hunt worked diligently beside each other to finish their creations.
Paige Reynolds, Life Enrichment Assistant, has encouraged residents in the activities department for 1 ½ years.
