Sally Lu Pruner, 88 of Shiloh passed away on Thursday, November 21, 2024 at Brethren Care Village with her family by her side.
She was born on December 8, 1935, in Wooster the daughter of the late Walter P. and Anna Mae (nee Mong) Shillito.
Sally graduated from Ontario High School, Class of 1954.
She married the love of her life, Forrest Ray Pruner on September 11, 1954. The couple would call Shiloh home.
Sally spent her life making a home for her husband and her wonderful family. She also worked outside of the home as a secretary at AAA and a personal secretary for the deans at Ashland University.
She also served as a secretary for camp 3287 for Modern Woodmen Insurance for her husband, Forrest.
She was a devoted member of Grace Brethren Church in Ashland. Sally had been recently attending Faith Church. Over the years, she became affectionately known as the “Lemonade Lady” by both students and parents at cross country sporting events that her husband had coached, always providing cold beverages to all.
A testament to her true nature, she always was offering a warm hug, making friends, talking to everyone she could, and a true socialite. She loved watching birds and witnessing the most beautiful sunrises and sunsets.
Her family reflects: Heaven gained one of the most beautiful souls. The most loving and caring person to anyone and everyone she ever came in contact with. A woman who would drop whatever she’s doing to jump in her car and help you or visit you. A woman who loved her family unconditionally and kept us going strong. Her smile would light up the room. She loved us to the moon and back she said, but we love you more. We will forever miss you down here and one day we will rebuild our family tree again in heaven. Until then keep Zack, Barry, and grandpa in check up there; we are sure they have been causing some sort of trouble.
Sally is survived by her loving four children, Debra Pruner of Shiloh, Keith (Karen) Pruner of Ashland, Scott (Debbie) Pruner of Mansfield, and Daphne Galloway of Ashland; eight grandchildren, Keeley Pruner of Mansfield, Kory (Melissa) Pruner of Elizabethtown, Pennsylvania, Ashley (Jay Watson) Norris of Ashland, Kerri (Ernie) McCormick of Mifflin, Shelby (Bryan) Rogers of Ashland; Kyle Reynolds of Mansfield, Paige Reynolds of Ashland, and Katelyn Reynolds of Ashland; and 12 great grandchildren, Sylvia, Jocelyn, and Ross Pruner, Isabelle and Talia McCormick, Colton Watson, Damion Cole, Zander Pruner, Bristol and Bentley Rogers, Spenser Burson, and Landen Rogers.
In addition to her parents, Sally is preceded in death by her husband of 69 years, Forrest R. Pruner who passed from this life on August 15, 2024; one grandson, Zachary Pruner; and her son-in-law, Barry Galloway.
