ONTARIO — A balanced scoring attack and a big fourth-quarter spurt boosted Ashland past Ontario Saturday night for a non-conference boys basketball win.

The Arrows outscored the Warriors 23-13 in the final period to wrap up a 59-46 victory on Joe Balogh Court.

Paxon Ediger’s 15 points topped Ashland’s offense, while Garrett Davis contributed 13 points. Gabe Baith and Reed Emmons chipped in 10 points apiece.

Coach Jason Hess saw his team edge in front 11-9 through the first quarter, and take a 22-19 margin into halftime. It remained close through the third period, with the Arrows maintaining a 36-33 advantage heading to the final eight minutes.

But it was all Ashland in the fourth quarter, with a 23-13 scoring bulge deciding the matter.

Cardae Brown poured in a game-high 25 points for Ontario, and teammate Trindon Flenoury contributed 16 points.

The Arrows improved to 6-4 overall and return to action on Friday at home against Dover.

Ontario falls to 2-8, and will bus to Willard on Tuesday.
