ASHLAND – After welcoming a five-person class in 2023, the Ashland City Schools Foundation (ACSF) is excited to accept nominations for inductees into its 12th class of Ashland High School Distinguished Alumni.
This award was created to recognize and honor Ashland graduates who have realized significant and noteworthy achievements as successful adults in their careers and/or have served as benefactors to mankind.
Selected honorees will be celebrated during a banquet in September.
Any AHS graduate who has been out of high school a minimum of 15 years is eligible for the award. Candidates must have distinguished themselves in community service (in Ashland or elsewhere), career achievement and/or other significant recognition.
Individuals who have not graduated from Ashland but have made significant contributions to the Ashland City Schools may also be nominated for special honorary recognition.
The deadline for nominations is set for March 31 and the online form to nominate a candidate can be found at ashlandforgood.org/ahs-distinguished-alum/.
Additionally, physical nomination forms can be retrieved at the Ashland City School District Offices, located at 1407 Claremont Ave. in Ashland.
The forms can be dropped off at those same District Offices or mailed to: PO Box 186, Ashland City Schools Foundation, Ashland, Ohio 44805.
Questions about the form or nomination process can be directed by email to the ACSF at ashlandcsf@gmail.com. The ACSF board is led by co-chairs Dwight McElfresh and Connie Marble.
The first year of the Distinguished Alumni event was 2003, when eight inductees were honored. That total has grown to 60 over the years, and the full list can be viewed here at ashlandforgood.org/acsf-distinguished-alumni-list/.
The ACSF is an independent foundation to generate and endow funds to promote excellence in academics, the arts and athletics, and to provide educational opportunities for all students and educators in the Ashland City School District.
