Carol Ann Abrams age 84 formerly of Ashland, passed away on January 11, 2025 at Winchester Terrace Nursing Home in Mansfield, Ohio.
Born in Ashland, Ohio on August 2, 1940, the daughter of Albert and Mary (Weaver) Helwig, she was a resident of Ashland County most of her life. Carol retired from the Ashland Public Library, she had also been employed by the Ashland City Schools as a satellite manager.She was a member of the Grace Brethren Church, Shepherds Sunday School Class who continued to offer love and support even after she entered a nursing home. She enjoyed playing and listening to dulcimer music, and singing with the Golden Serenader’s with Ashland Senior Citizens.
Surviving are two children, Patty Snader of Ashland and Kenny Abrams of New London, two grandchildren Lucas Snader and Kristine Abrams, two great-grandchildren Kasyn and Brextyn and her sister Joyce Mason of Virginia Beach, Virginia.
Carol knew Christ as her Lord and Savior and the people in her life were blessed to both express and receive God’s love as they spent time with her in person or by phone. Carol was a good listener and often expressed her gratitude for help given. Hugs were always welcome. Even in the midst of pain, Carol would often express compassion for a sleepy dear friend, and remind her to call and let her know she had gotten home safely from their weekly visit.
Carol enjoyed Bible study, phone calls, visits and cards, watching Hallmark and home improvement shows, and playing games. Listening to music while watching the birds in the bird feeder outside her window made her smile.
