JEROMESVILLE — On Wednesday, Feb. 5, the Hillsdale FFA had three members compete in the Sub District Public Speaking contest.

Jacob Schwendeman competed in the Creed Speaking contest and placed 2nd.

The purpose of the Creed Speaking Career Development is to provide FFA members the opportunity to develop oral communication skills, confidence, and the ability to appear before groups through Agricultural Public Speaking activities.

Makayla Schwendeman and Cooper Baker competed in the Extemporaneous Speaking contest.

The Extemporaneous Public Speaking Career Development aims to develop oral communication skills, expressing thoughts and ideas with limited preparation.

The Extemporaneous Public Speaking CDE is designed to further develop the prepared speaker to formulate remarks in situations with minimal prior notification or rehearsal. Makayla placed 1st and Cooper placed 3rd.

Congratulations to Jacob and Makalya who will be advancing to the district contest on
Tuesday, Feb. 11.
