ASHLAND — Ashland’s historic run to the Ohio Cardinal Conference championship didn’t go unnoticed.
Kennedy Lacey earned a spot on the Division III first team when the District 6 girls basketball team was unveiled Monday.
The Arrows won their first-ever OCC championship this season. Ashland (18-5) will play Tiffin Columbian in the district semifinals Wednesday at Buckeye Central.
A sophomore, Lacey averaged 14.5 points a game. Junior teammates Madison Hoffman and Camryn Cox were second-team picks. Hoffman averaged 9.7 points a game, while Cox averaged 7.6 points a night.
Division V
Crestview’s Georgia McFarland was a second-team pick in Division V. The senior averaged 9.1 points a game.
Tori Kidney was an honorable-mention selection for the Cougars (12-11). The junior averaged 8.6 points a game.
