Lyle B. Easterday, Sr., 69 of Ashland passed away early Monday morning, March 17, 2025 in his home with his loving family at his side.
He was born on February 20, 1956 in Lodi, the son of the late Harold Paul “Dutch” and Bertha (nee Bess) Easterday.
Lyle attended Cloverleaf High School. He retired after more than 45 years as a truck driver. Lyle was last employed at CRW in Shreve.
He married the former Jeanne Hudson on April 22, 2023.
Lyle was a devoted member of the King Road Christian Church. Throughout his life, he loved both attending and participating in drag races, truck and tractor pulls for more than 35 years. He loved fishing and enjoyed giving his family and friends a hard time.
He is survived by his loving wife, Mrs. Jeanne Easterday of Ashland; two daughters, Sarena Powell of Cleveland and Vanessa (Gerald) Penrod of Lorain; two sons, Robert (Katie) Newman of Medina and Jeremy (Ellie) Newman of Chippewa Lake; numerous grandchildren; two sisters, Carol (John) Lundell of Ashland and Ellie (Butch) Flenner of Kilbuck; and two brothers, Wayne (Denise) Easterday of Olena and Paul (Betty) Easterday of Spencer.
Lyle is preceded in death by his parents.
Funeral services will be held on Thursday, March 20, 2025 in the King Road Christian Church, 1425 King Road, Ashland, Ohio 44805 with Pastor Rich Pate presiding. Interment will be in the Chatham Cemetery following a meal and time of fellowship at the church. Friends and family may visit one hour prior to the service from 10:00 a.m. to 11:00 a.m. at the church.
In lieu of flowers, memorial contributions may be made to King Road Christian Church or to the Ashland County Cancer Association.
