ASHLAND — The Ashland FFA squads finished sixth in two state competitions for the State Milk Quality Products CDE at the Ohio Expo Center in Columbus.
In this competition participants identify milk defects, cheeses, determine if products are real or artificial, and complete the California Mastitis Test on milk samples.
Eleven members of the Ashland FFA competed from the high school and middle school.
For the middle school team, Finnegan Burras placed 6th, Walker Hartman placed 13th, and Brynne Brodie placed 31st. The Middle School team placed 6th in the state.
The high school team also placed 6th overall. Leading the team in 9th place was Hannah McNaull, followed by Haley McNaull in 17th, Emma Martin in 44th and Brandon Keiser in 53rd.
The club would like to thank coach Greg McNaull for all his help and support. Also, thanks goes to advisor Tod Fox for bringing the team to competitions. Finally, Dave Snyder is to be commended for his dedication to running this contest.
