MANSFIELD — North central Ohio is home to some of the top high school baseball players in the state.
Lexington’s Nick Hamler, Shelby’s Quinton Albert, Galion’s Max Albert and Crestview’s Gavin Barker earned first-team All-Ohio citations when the Ohio High School Baseball Coaches Association announced its All-Ohio team Monday afternoon.
A senior third baseman, Hamler was recognized in Division III. He batted .427 with six doubles, 18 runs batted in and 16 runs scored.
Both Quinton and Max Albert were Division IV first-teamers. Shelby’s junior first baseman, Quinton Albert batted .422 with 11 doubles and seven home runs. He knocked in 34 runs and scored 23 more. Max Albert, Galion’s senior shortstop and an Ashland University recruit, hit .406 with five doubles, two triples and 12 RBIs. He stole 21 bases and scored 26 runs.
Barker was honored in Division VI after batting .476 with eight doubles, two triples and four home runs. He drove in 22 runs and scored 20 runs.
