Stanley Raymond Kaufman, 73, of Burlington, North Carolina, died on June 11, 2025, at Duke University Hospital surrounded by his family. He was born on October 4, 1951, in Ashland, Ohio, the son of George and Helen Kaufman.
Stan grew up on a dairy farm working in the fields, and as an adult raised goats and other animals on his 36-acre property in Perrysville, Ohio. Stan designed and built his own homes for himself and his family throughout his life, from Covenant Milk and Honey to Castleview, and always had a new project to pursue. He was a successful salesman for 20 years, with expertise in cars, real estate, and farm equipment. He enjoyed riding his motorcycle all across the country, exploring new places and having adventures with friends and family. A natural competitor, he loved playing a variety of sports and games into his 70’s, and he usually won, especially basketball, softball, billiards, chess, and euchre. Stan was a “rock solid” friend and loving father with a free-spirited smile that is impossible to forget.
He was preceded in death by his parents. He is survived by his four children: Michael (Eileen) Kaufman, Brystana (Michael Fiorello) Kaufman, Stawn Kaufman, and Trynia (Craig Gray) Kaufman, and their mother Bryn Kaufman; six grandchildren: Corah (Malcolm) Tillerson, Caleb Kaufman, Collier Kaufman, Caeden Kaufman, Saiya Fiorello, and Corso Fiorello; his three siblings: Tom (Karen) Kaufman of Jeromesville, Ohio, Scott (Carol) Kaufman of Jeromesville, Ohio, and Janice (Joe) Alaura of Cardington, Ohio; and many friends who loved him dearly.
Celebration of life services are being planned for July 12, 1-4pm, at The Honeysuckle Teahouse and Taproom in Chapel Hill, North Carolina, as well as on August 2, at 3pm, at Trinity Lutheran Church in Jeromesville, Ohio.
