ASHLAND — There are dozens of elected seats up for grabs in Ashland County this year, and dozens of candidates have already either filed or pulled petitions.
Yet three villages (Hayesville, Mifflin and Polk) and one school district (Mapleton) don’t have any listed candidates, according to Ashland County Board of Elections files. Several others have candidates for only some of the open seats.
The list below shows who has filed for which seat, as of July 23.
If the name is followed by “filed,” it means that person has filed the necessary paperwork and filing fee ahead of the Aug. 6 deadline.
If the name is followed by “pulled petition,” it means that person has gathered the paperwork necessary to file but hasn’t yet.
Candidates have until Aug. 6 to file. Write-ins have until Aug. 25.
The board of elections will meet on Aug. 11 to validate candidate filings ahead of the Nov. 6 general election.
