SHILOH — The beef ran out early and the weather refused to cooperate, but by all accounts the 59th Shiloh Fireman’s Ox Roast was just as good as ever.
Saturday’s parade stepped off a few minutes early in an unsuccessful attempt to dodge raindrops. A storm blew through as the final few participants made their way down Main Street.
As for the beef, the final sandwich sold at 1:47 p.m.
“We originally ordered 11,000 pounds but with the weather forecast, we backed it down to 10,000,” said firefighter and paramedic Derrick Wallace, who also served as the parade emcee.
