PERRYSVILLE – The Loudonville FFA Alumni & Supporters invite the public to attend their annual Community Cookout on Saturday, Aug. 16 from 6 to 9 p.m. at the Perrysville VFW Pavilion (2802 County Road 917, Perrysville).
This free, family-friendly event is open to everyone — whether you have an agricultural background or simply enjoy good food and good company.
Guests will enjoy a delicious menu featuring Pinhook pulled pork, Ayers Ice Cream, a variety of sides and desserts, and a bonfire with s’mores to round out the evening.
The cookout is also a chance to meet Kyle Kidwell, the new Loudonville FFA Advisor, who joined the chapter following the retirement of longtime advisor Kendra Carnegie.
“Events like this are about more than just a meal — they’re about connection, community, and celebrating the people who help support our students and local agriculture,” said Kenny Libben, alumni President.
“Whether you’re an alum, a parent, or just someone who values the role agriculture plays in our community, we’d love to have you join us.”
Guests will also have an opportunity to learn more about the work of the Loudonville FFA Alumni & Supporters, who play an active role in supporting local agricultural education and the broader farming community.
Their initiatives include:
Purchasing official FFA jackets for all new members to ensure every student can participate, regardless of financial background.
Providing start-up loans for student Supervised Agricultural Experiences (SAEs), along with mentorship and financial literacy support.
Funding travel and educational expenses for students attending State and National FFA Conventions.
Sponsoring and hosting the Loudonville Farmers Market, supporting local farmers and producers while strengthening community ties.
Providing free meals during harvest season to local farmers bringing in grain — a gesture of appreciation for their long hours and hard work.
The cookout is a perfect opportunity for anyone interested in getting involved with the group or learning how to support local students, educators, and farmers.
