Donna Maxine Brubaker, 98
Donna Maxine Brubaker, 98 of Ashland passed from this life on Monday evening, August 4, 2025 in Crystal Care Nursing Home in Ashland.
She was born on September 26, 1926, in Ashland the daughter of the late Lyn and Metta (nee Esbenshade) Baker.
Donna graduated from Ashland High School, Class of 1944.
She married the love of her life, Dale L. Brubaker on July 28, 1945. Donna was previously employed at the Star Telephone Company and the office nurse for H. Wayne Smith M.D. She completed her career and retired in 1984 as the assistant financial aids director at Ashland College.
Donna was a member of Trinity Lutheran Church and the Ashland Chapter #92 of the Eastern Stars. She was an avid golfer, loved to travel to both Lake Erie and to Myrtle Beach, and an ardent reader. Most of all, Donna was a loving wife, who absolutely lived her life for both her children and grandchildren.
Donna is survived by a son and daughter-in-law, Michael (Rita) Brubaker of Ashland; daughter and son-in-law, Jennifer (Tom) Marquette of Ashland; granddaughter, Erin (Skip) Higbee of Ashland; grandsons, Michael (Heather) Brubaker of Lavonia, Michigan, Scott
(Brandy) Marquette of Ashland and Ryan (Emily) Marquette of Ashland; and her five great grandchildren, Sophie and Liam Brubaker and Luke and Allison Higbee, and Theo Marquette.
In addition to her parents, Donna is preceded in death by her loving husband of 64 years, Dale Brubaker, who passed away on June 9, 2009.
Funeral services will be held on Friday, August 15, 2025 at 12:00 p.m. in the Denbow-Gasche Funeral Home with Reverend Jeff Messner presiding. Interment will follow in the Ashland Cemetery. Friends and family may visit one hour prior to the service from 11:00 a.m. to 12:00 p.m. at the funeral home.
In lieu of flowers memorial contributions may be made to the Samaritan Hospital Foundation, 663 E Main St, Ashland, OH 44805.
