COLUMBUS — Ohio Gov. Mike DeWine on Wednesday evening ordered that, in accordance with orders from President Trump, that flags will be lowered in honor of Charlie Kirk.

A conservative political activist, Kirk was shot and killed Wednesday during a public event at a college in Utah.

DeWine ordered, “In accordance with the President of the United States of America, in honoring the life of Charlie Kirk that the flags of the United States and the state of Ohio shall be flown at half-staff upon all public buildings and grounds throughout the state of Ohio until 6 P.M. on September 14, 2025.”
