Monroeville finally found a way to top Ashland Crestview 28-26 in Ohio high school football on Oct. 17.
Ashland Crestview showed it was ready to play, using an early thrust to carve out a 7-0 advantage over Monroeville as the first quarter ended.
Both teams needed to regroup after dueling to a 14-14 standoff at the end of the second quarter.
Monroeville jumped in front of Ashland Crestview 21-14 going into the final quarter.
The Cougars managed a 12-7 rally in the fourth quarter, yet the die was already cast.
Last season, Monroeville and Ashland Crestview squared off on Sept. 13, 2024 at Monroeville High School.
In recent action on Oct. 3, Ashland Crestview faced off against Norwalk St Paul and Monroeville took on Ashland Mapleton on Oct. 3 at Monroeville High School.
