TROY TOWNSHIP — Virgil Buckingham, Susan Delosh and incumbent Chase Galloway will compete for two Troy Township trustee positions, which will appear on the Nov. 4 ballot.
The race is non-partisan and the elected officials will serve four-year terms.
Susan DeLosh

DeLosh is the senior director of food and nutrition services at Cleveland Clinic, main campus. She graduated from Johnson and Wales University College of Culinary Arts in Providence, Rhode Island.
She serves as the Troy Township Zoning Board president, a position she has maintained since 2007.
“I want to make a difference. I care deeply about this community. I have raised my three children here, and I have lived in Troy Township for over 20 years,” she said.
If elected, the 48-year-old plans to:
- Openly communicate with residents
- Make the Troy Township website operational again
- “Maintain the integrity of the northern part of Ashland County, while still keeping the small town atmosphere,” she said.
DeLosh said her experience leading a team of over 400 people and her ability to work under pressure make her the right candidate for the position.
“I am willing to work hard for the residents, work to support local businesses [and] expand on the foundation that has already been put in place by those before [me] to continue to strengthen our community,” she said.
Virgil Buckingham
Buckingham is a retired construction worker who has experience working with subcontractors on projects.
He has lived in Nova for 30 years, and this is his first time seeking public office.
“I’m trying to be more involved,” he said.
If elected, Buckingham will ensure that streets and buildings are maintained, money is spent in the right areas and the township operates “smoothly,” he said.
Buckingham said the trustees do a good job at snow plowing and the road worker maintains the streets well, so “I just want to keep going in that direction,” he said.
He believes his experience working in construction and with subcontractors gives him the right experience for the position.
“All the people here in town are great, and I want to see them get a fair deal,” Buckingham said.
Chase Galloway
Galloway did not respond to Ashland Source questions.
