Leroy C. Weaver 90, of Ashland passed away early Monday morning, August 17, 2026 in OhioHealth Mansfield Hospital following a brief illness.

He was born on June 10, 1936 in Loudonville, the son of the late Roy and Margaret (nee Heller) Weaver. Leroy inherited a strong work ethic from his parents, as an only child, working on his aunt and uncle’s farm during the summer.

Leroy graduated from Loudonville High School, Class of 1954. He began his collegiate years at Ashland College, later transferring to the Ohio State University. Overwhelmed by the large population on campus, he realized that was not what he was looking for. After taking one year off from college and influence from John Hurst of Hurst Pharmacy, the good Lord provided him with the direction he was looking for. Pharmacy is where he should be. In 1961, Leroy earned a bachelor’s degree in pharmacy from Ohio Northern University. He was a student member of American Pharmaceutical Association (APhA) in college.

He retired after more than 40 years from Pharmacy in 2001. Throughout his career, he held leadership roles at Samaritan Hospital, Weiss Drug Store, Medical Arts Pharmacy, People’s Pharmacy, and Glasgos Pharmacy, later becoming Town Pharmacy.

Leroy married the love of his life, the former Donna C. Workman on July 15, 1961. Together they would make Ashland their home for the next 62 years.

Throughout his life, Leroy was a devoted member of the First United Methodist Church, as a past trustee and youth camp counselor. He was also a longtime member of the Ashland Noon Lions Club, Ashland Area Chorus, and the OSPA, OPA, and the NCOPA, all pharmacy affiliated organizations. During his retirement years, he volunteered at the Ashland Christian Health Center and enjoyed both bird feeding and bird watching.

He is survived by his loving daughter, Kim L. Liston of Ashland; one grandson, Benjamin David (Amber) Liston of Columbus; three great grandchildren, Piper, Lucien, and Irving Liston of Columbus; his brother-in-law, Frederick Steven (Cammie) Workman of Perrysville; and a sister-in-law, Maggie Workman of Ashland; and many nieces and nephews.

In addition to his parents, Leroy is preceded in death by his loving wife, Donna C. Weaver who passed from this life on March 26, 2024; two sons, Bruce A. Weaver on April 23, 1964, and Gregg Michael Weaver on February 12, 1989; and two brothers-in-law, Robert (Donna) Workman and Thomas Workman.

Funeral services will be held on Saturday, August 22, 2026 at 11:00 a.m. at the First United Methodist Church with Vicar Derek Kubilus, and Reverends Tom Snyder and Toni McKee presiding. Friends and family may call one hour prior to the service from 10:00 a.m. to 11:00 a.m. at the church. Interment will be in the Ashland Cemetery.
