Super start fuels Hillsdale’s victory over Danville
Jeromesville Hillsdale grabbed a quick lead then had to fight to retain its advantage before securing a 25-20 win against Danville in a Division VII regional championship game at West Lafayette’s Ridgewood High School.
Hillsdale opened with a 13-0 advantage over Danville through the first quarter.
The dynamic altered in the second quarter as the Blue Devils inched back to within a 19-14 halftime deficit.
Both teams swapped scores and the lead in the third period before the Falcons emerged with a 25-20 edge.
Neither squad scored in the final quarter.

Shelby takes advantage of early margin to defeat Galion
An early dose of momentum helped Shelby to a 41-7 runaway past Galion in an Ohio high school football matchup on Nov. 21.
Shelby opened with a 14-0 advantage over Galion through the first quarter.
The Whippets’ offense jumped in front for a 21-7 lead over the Tigers at the intermission.
Shelby charged to a 27-7 lead heading into the final quarter.
The Whippets got the better of the fourth-quarter scoring, finishing the game in style with a 14-0 edge.
Last time Shelby and Galion played in a 35-6 game on Sept. 20, 2024.

Col. Crawford blasts West Jefferson for regional crown
Colonel Crawford pocketed its first regional championship in school history by blasting West Jefferson 35-7 in a Division VI Elite Eight clash.
Connor McMichael’s 13-yard touchdown run midway through the first period gave C.C. a lead it would not relinquish. That was the first of his four TDs in this game.
McMichael added a 2-yard plunge early in the second quarter for a 14-0 edge. Less than two minutes later he hammered in for a third score on a 7-yard jaunt for a 21-0 bulge. McMichael’s 3-yard TD run in the final minute of the half made it 28-0 at intermission.
Neither team scored in the third quarter.
West Jefferson averted the shutout when Austin Buescher connected with Jackson Beatty for an 8-yard TD pass to cut the margin to 28-7 early in the fourth period.
But the Eagles finished the scoring on Peyton Baker’s 11-yard touchdown bolt midway through the final quarter.
Bascom Hopewell-Loudon shuts out Carey
A suffocating defense helped Bascom Hopewell-Loudon handle Carey 35-0 for an Ohio high school football victory on Nov. 21.
The first quarter gave Bascom Hopewell-Loudon a 6-0 lead over Carey.
The Chieftains fought to a 20-0 halftime margin at the Blue Devils’ expense.
Defense ruled the third quarter as Bascom Hopewell-Loudon and Carey were both scoreless.
The Chieftains got the better of the fourth-quarter scoring, finishing the game in style with a 15-0 edge.
In recent action on Nov. 7, Bascom Hopewell-Loudon faced off against Collins Western Reserve and Carey took on Castalia Margaretta on Nov. 7 at Margaretta High School.
Avon takes advantage of early margin to defeat Medina Highland

Avon opened with a 21-6 advantage over Medina Highland through the first quarter.
The Hornets bowed their back in the second quarter, chipping the deficit to 21-12.
Avon moved to a 29-19 lead heading into the final quarter.
The Eagles got the better of the fourth-quarter scoring, finishing the game in style with a 7-0 edge.
