MOHICAN TOWNSHIP — Parents, students, teachers and community members on Friday cheered loud and proud for the Hillsdale football team players ahead of their trip to Canton.
The band, cheer squad and color guard led the team through the halls while onlookers cheered and held up handmade signs.
Then the team boarded the bus to Canton where they will face off against St. Henry in the Division VII state championship game on Saturday.
Saturday’s matchup will be the team’s second state championship bid in two years. The Falcons fell to Marion Local (74-0) in December 2024.
The Falcons are scheduled to take Canton’s Tom Benson Hall of Fame Stadium at 10:30 a.m. on Saturday, Dec. 6.
