Lori Chapman, 65, of Ashland, Ohio passed away in her home on December 27, 2025, listening to the sound of waves crashing on the beach. She was surrounded by her closest loved ones. She will be leaving a huge void in her family’s hearts as they will miss hearing her laughter and wisdom.

Lori was born on November 1, 1960, in Akron, Ohio, daughter of Sandra Lee Sampson-Rimedio.  She attended high school at Our Lady of Elms (Class of 1978). During the 80’s she moved to her final hometown of Ashland where she met her husband, Thomas Chapman. They spent the next segment of their life raising three boys together side by side.

Throughout all her years growing into a devoted mother and becoming an amazing woman, she spent many times throughout the years traveling with her sister, husband, and friends to her most special place, the beach.

The love of her life was her husband Thomas Chapman married May 5, 1990, who fulfilled her wishes of completing one last trip to her favorite place, the ocean. They drove down together to Viginia Beach to see the sunset hand in hand with their toes in the sand this past summer.

Lori will be missed by everyone who was able to turn to her in a time of need, either to vent, needing advice, or navigating life. Whenever anyone needed anything, she was there to shower them with love and let them know it was all going to be ok.

More ways that Lori showed love to her family was baking her homemade pies and cookies, she also baked her holiday cookies for local businesses and families throughout the years. Her family specifically enjoyed her method of making her famous mashed potatoes. Lori’s love for her family was immeasurable and selfless, putting everyone before herself even while fighting cancer. She was lucky enough to spend a lot of time with her grandchildren who called her Meemaw. She and Thomas loved watching soccer games, having them spend the day in the pool and finishing the nights with warm blankets and a big bowl of popcorn.
