Thomas William Innes, 75
Thomas William Innes, 75 of Ashland passed from this life early Wednesday morning, January 21, 2026 in his home.
He was born on March 16, 1950 in Elyria, Ohio the son of the late William and Elizabeth (nee Shock) Innes.
Tom graduated from Elyria High School, Class of 1969. He proudly served in the United States Marine Corp during Vietnam. He was honorably discharged in 1973.
He married the former Cathy Jo Collins in 1972. For more than 40 years was employed for UA Local 42, plumbers and pipefitters retiring in 2012.
Throughout his life, he enjoyed fishing, hunting, and vegetable gardening. Tom was always tinkering around the garage on something whether it be working on his equipment or a boat motor. Most of all he loved being a devoted grandfather, always driving them to something they were involved in. He loved watching movies with Ella, taking Travis to get pancakes for breakfast, and he was Sara’s #1 fan and loved being proud of all she accomplished and making sure she and her friends always Starbucks. He really was a VIP to his grandkids and will be deeply missed. His life would not be complete without the mention of his k-9 companion, Audrey who never left his side and loved to take rides on the Kubota with Tom.
He is survived by his loving wife of 53 years, Mrs. Cathy Innes of Ashland; two adoring children, Kevin Innes of Elyria and Kristyn Drake of Ashland; three grandchildren, Sara, Travis, and Ella Drake of Ashland; and one brother, Kim (Linda) Innes of New London.
