Charlotte Ann McConnell, 85 of Ashland passed away peacefully on Thursday evening, February 5, 2026 at OhioHealth Mansfield Hospital, surrounded by her loving family.
She was born on June 11, 1940, in Mount Zion, West Virginia, to the late Lee and Elsie (nee Georg) Roberts. Charlotte was a 1958 graduate of Ruggles-Troy High School.
Charlotte and John McConnell began dating while they were still in high school, marking the start of a love that would last a lifetime. They were married on October 18, 1958, and went on to share 67 cherished years together.
After more than 25 years of dedicated service, Charlotte retired in 2005 as a secretary at Mapleton Elementary School. She was a faithful and devoted member of Grace Church in Ashland.
Charlotte loved farm life, sharing the work with John and pouring her heart into her home and family. She was a great cook who always cooked from scratch and made the best rhubarb pie. Charlotte enjoyed traveling through nearly all 50 states, but her greatest joy came from time spent with her children and grandchildren. Family and God were everything to her.
Charlotte is survived by her loving husband, John McConnell of Ashland; four daughters, Renee (Rob) Entenmann of Cross Lanes, West Virginia; Shelly McConnell of Columbus; Stacy (Matt) Bolton of Fort Wayne, Indiana; and Jeong (J.B.) Kim of Seoul, Korea; 10 grandchildren, Jonathan (Kaytlin) Entenmann of Cross Lanes, West Virginia; Brooke Entenmann of Savannah, Georgia; Rhealynn McConnell of Seattle, Washington; Shayna and Riley McConnell of Columbus; Alex (fiancé Brandie Hayes) Smith of Newark, Conor and Reilly Bolton of Fort Wayne, Indiana; and Joe and Xavier Kim of Seattle, Washington; four great-grandchildren, Eastyn, K.J., Nova Charlotte, and Emerson; and two sisters, Kathleen Bursley of Ashland, and Bonnie Horsley of Lucas.
In addition to her parents, Charlotte was preceded in death by one brother and five sisters.
A private family service will be held with interment to follow in the Ashland Cemetery.
