Shirley L. Parks, 87 of Ashland passed from this life on Sunday morning, February 15, 2026, in Crystal Care following an extended illness.
She was born on November 9, 1938, in Woodsfield, Ohio, the daughter of the late Virgil and Mary (nee Dunn) Brown.
Shirley married the love of her life, James R. Parks, on July 3, 1954.
She was a homemaker all of her life. Shirley enjoyed going to flea markets, county fairs, and the great outdoors.
She was a devoted member of Maple Grove Church of the Brethren and Eagles Aerie #2178 in Ashland.
Shirley is survived by her four children, Jim (Connie) Parks, Tim (Karen) Parks, George (Darlene) Parks, and Patty (Roland) Trudel, all of Ashland; numerous grandchildren and great grandchildren; and two sisters, Luella and Kathy.
In addition to her parents, Shirley is preceded in death by her loving husband of 42 years, Jim who passed away on December 3, 1996; and six siblings, Judy, Linda, Dick, Larry, Ted, and Bill.
Funeral services will be held on Thursday, February 19, 2026, at 11:00 a.m. in the Maple Grove Church of the Brethren with Reverend Steve Keib presiding. Interment will follow in the Nankin Cemetery. Friends and family may visit one hour prior to the service from 10:00 a.m. to 11:00 a.m. at the church.
In lieu of flowers, memorial contributions may be made to Maple Grove Church of the Brethren.
