JEROMESVILLE — The Hillsdale FFA Chapter competed in the Sub District Public Speaking Leadership Development Event on Feb. 4.
Members Laney Meek, Cooper Baker, and Eben Wilson-Mills, traveled to Firelands High School to compete.
Creed Speaking is reserved for 9th-grade members in their first year of high school agricultural education. It required a verbatim recitation of the FFA Creed by E.M. Tiffany followed by a five-minute question-and-answer session.
Extemporaneous Speaking challenges members to prepare a four-to-six-minute speech in just 30 minutes based on a randomly drawn topic.
Meek placed 3rd in Creed Speaking and advanced to the district competition, on Feb. 11, where she placed 4th.
Baker placed 7th in Extemporaneous Public Speaking and Wilson-Mills placed 8th in Extemporaneous Public Speaking.
Congratulations to Laney, Eben, and Cooper for all of your hard work and good luck.
