ASHLAND — Ashland County Prosecuting Attorney Chris Tunnell released nine felony indictments on Tuesday issued by the most recent Ashland County grand jury.

A total of 12 indictments were issued in March, according to the release. Three of those remain sealed because they had not been served at the time of the press release.

Below is a list of the nine individuals who were indicted, according the county’s prosecutor. Those individuals have or will appear in Ashland County Common Pleas Court.

March indictments in Ashland County

  • Kyle Brown, 36, of Ashland, was charged with abduction, strangulation, domestic violence and menacing. The Ashland Police Division filed the initial complaint on Feb. 23.
  • Samantha Morris, 20, of Loudonville, was charged with obstructing justice. The Loudonville Police Department was the investigating agency.
  • Cory Leaver, 36, of Ashland, was charged with aggravated possession of drugs. The Ashland County Sheriff’s Office was the investigating agency.
  • Juan Carlos Velasco Diaz, 46, of Cleveland, was charged with two counts of operating a vehicle under the influence of alcohol, a drug of abuse or a combination of them, as well as one count of driving under OVI suspension. The Ohio State Highway Patrol was the investigating agency.
  • Alexander Yevgeniy-Anthony Korotkin, 19, of Delaware, was charged with aggravated possesion of drugs. OSHP was the investigating agency.
  • Dakota Levi Blakely, 25, of Loudonville, was charged with passing bad checks, three counts of forgery, theft and telecommunications fraud. The Loudonville Police Department was the investigating agency.
  • John D. Bongalis, 59, of Sullivan, was charged with seven counts, including: failure to comply with an order or signal of a police officer, violating a protection order, carrying concealed weapon, improperly handling a firearm in a motor vehicle, obstructing official business, inducing panic and possessing criminal tools. ACSO filed the initial complaint on Feb. 24.
  • Joseph Frederick Doering, 39, of Ashland, was charged with reckless homicide, tampering with evidence and aggravated possession of drugs. ACSO filed the initial complaint on Feb. 20.
  • Dakota Poth, 33, of Ashland, was charged with domestic violence, failing to provide for functionally impaired person and felonious assault. The Ashland Police Division filed the initial complaint on Feb. 19.
