ASHLAND — An Edison Elementary School employee’s resignation was accepted Sunday evening by Ashland City Schools.

The noon-duty paraprofessional/bus driver was placed on paid administrative leave on the evening of April 16 following “allegations of misconduct,” according to a press release issued by the district Monday afternoon.

The allegations surrounding this unnamed employee are separate from those related to another unnamed Edison Elementary School noon-duty paraprofessional/bus driver — who was terminated by the district on the evening of April 14 for “misconduct,” the release said.

Further details surrounding the incident have yet to be released.

“Both individuals were immediately removed from their duties once the district became aware of these concerns,” the release said. “We have been committed to ensuring a fair and comprehensive process for all individuals involved.

“At this time, there is no ongoing risk to students and appropriate steps have been taken to maintain a safe school environment. Student and staff safety remains our highest priority.

“As part of our core value to ‘create a circle of safety,’ we will continue to take all concerns seriously and act decisively to uphold a safe and respectful school environment,” the district said in its release.
