Hillsdale, Crestview to host familiar foes in opening round of baseball playoffs

ASHLAND — Ashland County high school baseball fans are in for a treat when the postseason begins next week.

Hillsdale will host Mapleton and Crestview will welcome New London in the Division VI sectional finals.

The Falcons (13-7) earned the No. 5 seed in the Northeast District. Hillsdale will entertain the 29th-seeded Mounties (2-15) at 5 p.m. May 22.

In the Northwest District, Crestview (8-7) will host New London at 2 p.m. May 23. The Cougars swept the regular-season series with the Wildcats.

Also in Division VI, No. 27 Loudonville (2-16) will visit No. 6 LaBrae for a sectional final at 5 p.m. May 21.

The Arrows will open postseason play at Bud Plank Field.

Ashland (7-8) will host Celina in a Division III sectional final at 5 p.m. May 21.
