SAVANNAH — The village of Savannah will host its annual Memorial Day Program on Monday beginning at 10 a.m. at the Savannah Town Hall, located at 16 S. Main St.
This year’s program will feature guest speaker Christopher R. Tunnell, Ashland
County prosecuting attorney, who will deliver remarks honoring the service and sacrifice of the nation’s veterans.
Community members are invited to attend the ceremony as the village gathers
to pay tribute to those who have served in the United States Armed Forces, particularly those who made the ultimate sacrifice.
Following the program, a Memorial Day parade will proceed through Savannah.
Participants will line up at the former Savannah School prior to the parade. Local organizations, including floats, walking groups, Scouts, 4-H clubs, churches and other community groups, are encouraged to take part.
For safety reasons, parade participants are reminded that candy throwing is not permitted.
Residents and visitors alike are encouraged to join in honoring veterans by attending both the program and parade. For additional information, please contact Arden Fitch at (419)-962-4425.
