Jean Susan Eglin, born April 8th, 1942, passed away peacefully July 7th, 2026, at The Good Shepard of Ashland at the age of 84.
Jean was born in Eckman, WV to Ocie and Claude Bowman. Some of her most fond memories that she would share were in that little town with her parents and siblings.
Jean married John Hugh Eglin on July 28th, 1961, who survives, and began their lives together farming and starting their family. Jean tended to her family and the farm her entire life. She spent most of her final years on her porch swing with her beloved dogs Foxy and Bugsy.
In addition to her husband, Jean is survived by her siblings Roger Bowman of Finksburg, MD; Karen (Sue) Bowman of Sarasota, FL; and Larry (Wanda) Bowman of Helena, OH. Jean is also survived by her children Beverly (David) Emmons; James Eglin; Teresa (Brian) Martin; Julie (Scott) Rush; Jeffrey Eglin; Jason Eglin; and Matthew (Tracy) Eglin all of Ohio. As well as many nieces, nephews and extended family members.
Jean prided herself in her family and especially her grandchildren; Gregory (Nikki) Emmons; Shelby (Shawn) MacKenzie; Brittainy (Josh) Wenrich; Kody Rush; Wyatt (Shelby) Rush of Fraser, MI; Brandon Martin; Brant (Jessica) Eglin of La Feria, TX; Jordan Eglin and Amanda Eglin.
She was additionally blessed with her two great grandchildren, Luke and Emma MacKenzie.
In keeping with Jean’s wishes there will be no services.
In lieu of flowers – memorial contributions can be made to The Cat House Feline Sanctuary 1130 E. Main Street, Ashland, OH 44805 or the Ashland Humane Society P.O. Box 114, Ashland, OH 44805. Jean loved animals as much as her family.
