I’m singing in the rain
Just singing in the rain
What a glorious feelin’
I’m happy again
I’m laughing at clouds
So dark up above
The sun’s in my heart
And I’m ready for love
Let the stormy clouds chase
Everyone from the place
Come on with the rain
I’ve a smile on my face
I walk down the lane
With a happy refrain
Just singin’,
Singin’ in the rain
.

Lyrics from Singin’ in the Rain, 1952.

MANSFIELD — Pittsburgh native Gene Kelly made the song above famous, and the musical Singin’ in the Rain an iconic hit by belting out the above lyrics while famously splashing through a Hollywood movie set while pining for Debbie Reynolds’ character in 1952.

Alas it’s hard to imagine anyone as happy as Kelly to see clouds forming on the horizon these days.

Yet that’s precisely what we’re about to see in north central Ohio.
