ASHLAND – Ashland County Community Foundation recently awarded 14 Women’s Fund
Grants to support and empower women in Ashland County.
The following organizations received grants totaling $38,750:
ACCESS received a grant to provide care bags to individuals residing in the county who are unable to be served/waiting to be served by ACCESS.
Acts 4 Love received a grant for funding for materials to create ice/heat packs.
Ashland Assembly of God DBA New Life Community Church received a grant to cover costs for childcare stipends, craft supplies, and refreshments for families participating in a Mommy & Me program.
Ashland Christian Health Center received a grant to provide 10 mammograms and follow up care for uninsured women, translation assistance, and online access for digital e-script capabilities.
Ashland FFA Alumni Association received a grant to support flights and lodging for the State Winning Floriculture team, and chaperones to attend the American Institute of Floral Designers Symposium in July.
Brethren Care Village Foundation received a grant to purchase specialized rehabilitation, mobility, balance, speech, and fall-prevention equipment to support evidence-based wellness and therapy programming for individuals living with Parkinson’s disease and other neurological conditions.
Community Health Access Project received a grant to purchase essential items for infants and caregivers in Ashland County, including diapers, wipes, formula, pacifiers, hygiene supplies, and fuel cards to ensure families can safely access needed services.
Foundations Community Childcare, Inc. received a grant to widen its driveway and parking lot to improve traffic flow and ensure safety for staff, children, and families.
Grow in Hope Ministries received a grant to cover funding for postage, stationary, and fuel to provide ongoing encouragement, supportive relationships, and hope to incarcerated and recently released women through letters, mentorship, and potential prison visitation.
Loudonville Church Women, Inc. received a grant to supply women in the Loudonville- Perrysville School District with personal/menstrual hygiene and incontinence products to lead more productive lives.
Olive Tree Care received a grant to support emergency tuition assistance via its agency endowment fund held at ACCF.
Rape Crisis Domestic Violence Safe Haven/Appleseed received a grant to support trauma- informed community art events, which includes funds for supplies, materials, exhibit setup, marketing, signage and refreshments to promote awareness, healing, and community engagement around domestic and sexual violence.
The Salvation Army received a grant to fund scholarships for children from low-income families attending Summer Day Camp, to help cover the additional expense of before and after childcare for the eight-week day camp.
United Church Residences of Ashland Ohio Inc. (Mill Run Place) received a grant to fund basic needs supplies, and a group outing to reduce financial strain and social isolation among low-income older adult residents of Mill-Run Place.
The Women’s Fund of Ashland County Community Foundation was established in 2004 to create a permanent legacy that enhances the lives of women in Ashland County.
Women’s Fund Grants are awarded by ACCF to 501(c)(3) and other qualifying charitable organizations in support of projects and initiatives specifically designed to support and empower women in Ashland County. Grant recipients are chosen by the Women’s Fund Steering Committee of Ashland County Community Foundation.
