Barbara Ann Michalovich, 78 of Ashland passed away early Sunday morning, August 2, 2026 in her home following an extended illness.
She was born on July 14, 1948 in Ashland, the daughter of the late George and Ruth (nee Sykes) Smith.
Barb graduated from Ashland High School, Class of 1966. For many years she was known for her work at Walmart as the sticker lady where she retired in 2018.
She married Michael James Michalovich on May 20, 2016. Throughout her life, she enjoyed both boating and old cars.
Barb was a devoted member of Christ United Methodist Church.
She is survived by her loving husband of ten years, Michael Michaolivch of Ashland; her children, Jody Rowe of Ashland and Shane Ewbank of Toledo; three grandchildren, Haley Rowe of Ashland, Morgan Ewbank of Toledo and Bennett Ewbank of Toledo; her siblings, Sue Meyer of Jeromesville and David (Debbie) Smith of Vero Beach, FL; and a brother-in-law, Mark Holsinger.
In addition to her parents, Barb is preceded in death by her two brothers, Curtis Smith and Philip Smith; sister, Elizabeth Holsinger; and a son-in-law John (J.C.) Meyer.
Funeral services will be held on Friday, August 7, 2026, at 7:00 p.m. in the Denbow-Gasche Funeral Home with Reverend Marelize Bruner presiding. Family and friends may visit one hour prior to the service from 5:00 p.m. to 7:00 p.m.
In lieu of flowers, memorial contributions may be made to the Humane Society of Ashland County, P.O. Box 114, Ashland, Ohio 44805.
