Robert K. Hostler age 87 of Ashland, passed away on Sunday August 9, 2026 at Inn at Ashland Woods.
Born in Loudonville, Ohio on May 27, 1939 the son of Kenneth and Edith (Lowery) Hostler he was a resident of Ashland County most of his life. Robert had been employed as a manager with BP gas stations before his retirement. He enjoyed taking his 1964 Econoline van to car shows and he won many awards with it. He was also a model train enthusiast and enjoyed working on his layout and collection.
On March 25, 1959 Robert was married to Betty Crawford who survives.
In addition to his wife Betty, Robert is survived by two daughters and sons in law: Roberta (Craig) Young of Avon and Betsy (Brent) Moore of Mansfield. Also surviving are two grandsons: Nathan (Jackie) Moore and Andrew (Courtney) Moore. Four great grandchildren also survive.
Robert is preceded in death by his parents and one sister and brother in law, Deloris (Tom) Kurtz.
Funeral services will be held on Thursday August 13, 2026 at 11:00 am at the Heyl Funeral Home with Pastor Dan Brown officiating. Internment will follow the funeral service at the Greenlawn Cemetery in Perrysville, Ohio. Friends may visit with the family on Thursday August 13, 2026 from 10:00 am till 11:00 am.
