HAYESVILLE — The Ashland County Historical Society (ACHS) will host its 2026 Cemetery Walk at the Hayesville-Vermillion Township Cemetery on Sunday, September 13, 2026, from 2-4:00 p.m.
This family-friendly cemetery walk brings local stories to life thanks to the corps of re-enactors who have worked closely with the ACHS to research the life and times of those who came before us. Held annually, ACHS identifies several influential and significant individuals who helped shape our communities. This year’s walk will take place in Hayesville where participants will hear from notable individuals such as Eddie Stover, renowned milliner, Opera soprano Mabel Bera and more.
Tickets are required for this year’s event at $10 per person with proceeds enabling ACHS to continue offering lively and engaging educational programming in years to come. Space is limited per tour slot. Tours begin at 2:00, 2:30, 3:00, and 3:30. Parking and checking will be at the Hayesville Methodist Church at 44 S. Mechanic Street, Hayesville, OH 44838.
The 2026 Cemetery Walk is also offering accessible transportation from Ashland to Hayesville thanks to Brethren Care Village. Seats are available on a first come first served basis and can be selected at the time of registration. This year’s event is made possible thanks to Lighthouse Wealth Management and Denbow-Gasche Funeral Home and Crematorium.
