Dennis A. Hawks, age 78 of Ashland, passed away at his residence on August 29, 2026.
Born in Ashland, Ohio on April 9, 1948, the son of Kenneth and Ruth (Lowe) Hawks, he was a resident of Ashland all of his life. Dennis had been employed at Ohio Edison for 37 years until his retirement.
He loved classic cars and currently owned a 1956 Chevy; he also loved the times he spent at Lake Erie with his camper and Lyman boat with his friends. He was also a lifetime member of the NRA. Dennis was very strong in his Christian faith.
On February 18, 1972, Dennis was married to his wife of 54 years, Karen J. (Sidel) Hawks, who survives.
In addition to his wife Karen, Dennis is survived by two children, Greg and Jennifer. Also surviving are four grandchildren and nine great grandchildren. One sister, Melinda also survives.
He is preceded in death by his parents and one brother, Larry Hawks.
Funeral services will be held on Friday, September 4, 2026. at 1:00 pm at the Heyl Funeral Home with Pastor Mark Abel officiating.
Internment will follow the funeral service at the Hayesville Vermilion Cemetery. Friends may visit with the family on Friday September 4, 2026, from 12:00 pm till 1:00 pm.
