WOOSTER – An 11-year-old boy was killed affter a truck struck a house just before midnight on Friday night, according to the Wooster Post of the Ohio State Highway Patrol.
Emmet Sauers, 11, of Wooster, was located inside the residence at the time of the crash and was pronounced deceased at the scene, the Patrol stated.
The incident took place on Madison Avenue in Wayne County at approximately 11:50 p.m.
According to the Patrol, a white, 2007 Ford F-250 was traveling northwest on State Route 302 (Madison Avenue). The Ford F-250 departed the eastern road edge and struck a residential structure.
Karas M. Wedge, 18, of Seville, was operating the Ford F-250 and sustained minor injuries. She was transported from the scene to Wooster Community Hospital.
Troopers from the Wooster Highway Patrol Post responded to the scene on a report of a serious injury crash with entrapment.
The Ohio State Highway Patrol was assisted on scene by the Wayne County Sheriff’s Office, Wooster Police Department, Wooster Township Fire & EMS, Wooster Fire & EMS, Wayne County Coroner’s Office, Red Cross, AEP and Rigz Towing.
The crash is currently still under investigation.
