ASHLAND — The Ashland Huf-N-Puffers senior fast-pitch softball team has concluded another season.
The 60-and-over organization finished its 19th campaign on Aug. 26 at Brookside Park in Ashland.
The final date was both ‘Unique Uniform Day’ and ‘Fan Appreciation Day.’ The first 60 fans received a free small ice cream cone gift card for use at Yoder’s Red Barn.
The organization is closed for the 2027 season but a waiting list exists due to attrition (injury, death, quitters). Any male or female 60 years old or over (within the 2027 calendar year) interested may contact John at 419-651-6697.
Despite the roster being closed, there is a need for an age 70 or older man or woman, experienced fast-pitch pitcher (windmill or slingshot), who can throw at least 40 mph for the ‘Seniors’ Division that plays at 4:30 p.m.
The ‘Junior’ Division (ages 60 to 69) plays at 6:40 p.m. DH’s are played on Wednesdays at Brookside Park (B1) and begin after Memorial Day and end prior to Labor Day (barring cancellations).
