Cheryl Heffelfinger, age 73, passed away peacefully on September 6, 2026.
Born on January 6, 1953, in Ashland, Ohio, Cheryl was the daughter of Clark and Velma Heffelfinger. She was preceded in death by her parents and her brother.
Cheryl dedicated 47 years of service to Samaritan Hospital in Ashland, where she built lasting friendships and touched countless lives through her kindness.
She was a long-term member of St. Mary’s Catholic Church in Mansfield, Ohio, where she served faithfully for many years.
She was a devoted animal lover and generously volunteered her time fostering dogs. Cheryl also cherished spending time at Lake Erie, a place she loved throughout her life and where she made many treasured memories.
Cheryl was known for her generous heart, positive spirit, and caring nature. Her compassion and selflessness left a lasting impact on all who knew her.
She is survived by family who loved her deeply and friends who were like family to her, all of whom will greatly miss her presence, friendship, and kind spirit.
A graveside service will be held Friday at 11:00 a.m.at Ashland Cemetery.
