Grace Anne Vermillion, 84 of Ashland passed from this life on Friday, September 11, 2026, in Brethren Care Village after a period of declining health.
She was born on March 20, 1942, in Ashland, the daughter of the late Ira W. and Katherine (nee Barnett) Roseborough.
Gracie graduated from Ashland High School, Class of 1960.
She married the love of her life, Philip Vermillion, on June 24, 1977. Gracie retired in 2007 after more than 31 years from the City of Ashland. She spent her early years working in dispatch and completed her career at the municipal court with Judge Jake Fridline.
Gracie was a devoted member of Trinity Lutheran Church where she spent more than 20 years on church council and a fiscal officer. She enjoyed singing in the choir and organizing bus trips with the trinity travelers for many years. In their retirement years, both Gracie and Phil enjoyed their luncheons with their fellow retirees from the city.
She is survived by her daughter, Tina (Brian) Burns; two daughters-in-law, LouAnn Missler and April Vermillion; five grandchildren, Bradley (Michele) Blank, Nathan (Allison) Blank, Levi (Ashley) Blank, Zach Vermillion, and Caleb (Tecca) Burns; 11 great grandchildren; one sister, Lulu “Beanie” Bowersock of Ashland; and numerous nieces and nephews.
In addition to her parents, Gracie is preceded in death by her loving husband on 47 years, Phil Vermillion who passed away on May 28, 2024; one son, Charles “Todd” Blank; and her siblings, Blanche Murr, Marie Streit, Jim, Roger, Robert, and William Roseborough, Sarah Crossen, and Rhea “Lou” Landis.
Funeral services will be held on Saturday, September 19, 2026, at 11:00 a.m. in the Trinity Lutheran Church with Reverend Kevin McClain presiding. Family and friends may visit one hour prior to the service from 10:00 a.m. to 11:00 a.m. at the church.
