ASHLAND — United Way of Ashland County will officially launch its 2027 “United We Rise” campaign Friday with a goal of raising $1.1 million to support programs and services benefiting people throughout the county.
The campaign kickoff will take place from 11:30 a.m. to 1 p.m. at the Ashland University
Convocation Center and will bring together community members, businesses, partner agencies and supporters to mark the beginning of the annual fundraising campaign.
A highlight of the event will be the presentation of a $50,000 gift from Fred and Lori
Gottfried in support of the 2027 campaign.
This year’s theme, “United We Rise,” reflects the impact that individuals, businesses and organizations can make when they work together to address local needs and strengthen the Ashland County community.
“’United We Rise’ represents the spirit of Ashland County,” said Stacy Schiemann, executive director of United Way of Ashland County. “Reaching our $1.1 million goal will take all of us working together and we are incredibly grateful for the generosity and commitment that make this work possible.
“Fred and Lori Gottfried’s $50,000 gift is an inspiring way to begin this year’s campaign and demonstrates the difference that can be made when our community steps forward
together.”
United Way of Ashland County currently supports 13 partner agencies and 24 programs,
along with community initiatives designed to address needs throughout the county. Funds raised through the annual campaign help support local efforts focused on education, financial stability, health and basic needs.
The Friday kickoff will celebrate the impact of United Way and its community partners,
recognize supporters who make the work possible and encourage individuals and organizations across Ashland County to join the effort to reach the $1.1 million campaign goal.
