ASHLAND — Three Ashland County schools are in the playoff hunt.
Ashland, Hillsdale and Loudonville were in the top 12 of their computer regions when the Ohio High School Athletic Association released its first batch of computer ratings Tuesday. The top 12 teams in each region advance to the playoffs, with the top four teams earning a first-round bye.
The Arrows (3-2) are ninth in Division II, Region 7 despite back-to-back losses to open Ohio Cardinal Conference play. Ashland has an average of 6.5500.
Two-time defending Division VII state runner-up Hillsdale moved up to Division VI this year. The Falcons (6.0500) are ninth in Region 21 after suffering their first loss of the season last week at Smithville.
Loudonville (4.2707) is 10th in Region 27 of Division VII after last week’s win over East Knox.
The playoffs begin Oct. 30 with opening-round regional games. The state championship games are Dec. 3 to 5 at Tom Benson Hall of Fame Stadium in Canton.

Oct. 30 – Regional Playoffs First Round, hosted by higher seed.
Nov. 6 – Regional Quarterfinals, hosted by higher seed.
Nov. 13 – Regional Semifinals, hosted by higher seed.
Nov. 20 – Regional Finals at neutral sites.
Nov. 26 – Thanksgiving.
Nov. 29 – State Semifinals at neutral sites.
Dec. 3-5 – State Championships, Tom Benson Hall of Fame Stadium, Canton.
